Léonie Foy

Léonie Foy has trained with and worked for Joanne Schmalenberger for several years.  She has certifications in personal fitness training, aerobics instruction, rebounding, weight and resistance training, cycle spinning, stability ball, and Pilates.  She is also a 200-hour registered yoga teacher with the Yoga Alliance.  Leonie’s Saturday morning rebounding and Smart Bells class at Beyond Fitness consists of 45 minutes of aerobic, low-impact rebounding, 15 minutes of weight-training with the Smart Bells and 15 minutes of abdominal and back exercises.

A graduate of Wellesley College with a degree in biology, Léonie leads small-group pilates and yoga classes, sees clients for personal fitness training and teaches several fitness and yoga classes at area studios, gyms, and Wellesley College. She also works part-time as a freelance editor.  Her hobbies include hiking, bicycling, mountaineering, downhill and cross-country skiing, canoeing, and rock climbing. In 1999, she achieved a life-long goal of mountaineering in the Himalayas when she successfully climbed 22,000' Mera Peak in Nepal as a member of an all-women expedition.
